But their journey wasn’t all sunshine and roses. When Jason and Jen married, they were “that” couple. The ones who met in college, did all the right things, and seemed to have it all together! Everyone looked up to them and put them on a pedestal. They expected to live happily ever after just like the fairytale story society often portrays. It was all so easy at first that over time they quit maintaining their relationship.
After several years of marriage, they allowed the distractions of life to get in the way and before long, drifted apart like two islands floating in a sea of disenchantment. Their marriage was like a beautifully designer decorated home that someone forgot to dust, vacuum, and care for. It looked lovely on the outside, but was dark and full of spider webs on the inside. During that time they developed very different ideas about what they wanted out of life (some of which were not grounded in the things that would keep their marriage afloat).
Before they knew it, they were in a cycle of isolation, disappointment, betrayal, pain, and loss. Eleven years in, they found themselves separated and on the way to divorce!
What they experienced is that escaping your marriage is painful and doesn’t satisfy like you think it will. Society makes a lot of fairytale “promises” that it can’t ever fulfill. They quickly found that separation and divorce is very costly and actually made things worse.
Thankfully, Jesus worked on their hearts and brought them back together. They were able to experience full reconciliation, forgiveness, and renewal, and have peace, love, joy, and fulfillment in their relationship like never before!
Now on a marriage mission, Jason and Jen are passionate to help other couples avoid the pitfalls and pain in marriage that they experienced. They are convinced their marriage is a prophetic sign to any couple who wants to overcome the typical struggles in marriage we ALL face and have a fortified, fun, and fulfilling relationship that lasts a lifetime.
They’ve spent a decade studying God's Word, coaching countless couples, and researching the best Christian marriage resources. They’ve taught their clients how to deeply connect with their spouses, come alive in their Christian walks, understand their purposes and identities, communicate with grace and love, build on their differences, and function as a winning team! They’ve learned what works and what doesn’t, and are excited to share what they’ve discovered with you! They can help you have the marriage you dreamed about!
Jason and Jennifer both have master’s degrees from Clemson University and have served in varying capacities as leaders in their local church. After 21 years of marriage, they now have two precious daughters who would not exist if the Lord had not brought them back together and healed their marriage. The Goins family lives in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. They enjoy games, puzzles, visits to the beach and mountains, relaxing, singing, dancing, fellowshipping, and college football!
